Osean carriers through Time

i was in a discussion about Osea’s aircraft carriers I decided to chart the Osean Carrier size through time

Osean carriers through time of 100 years

I’ll start with the 1920s where the Osean Navy has Langley class aircraft carrier, Lexington class aircraft carrier, Wasp class aircraft carrier, Akagi class aircraft carrier, Kagi class aircraft carrier and Hosho class aircraft carrier

So at the dawn of carrier aviation Osea had six aircraft carrier types so let’s move to the 1930s

In the 1930s the Osean Navy had been building its carrier force that was composed of Yorktown class aircraft carrier, Langley class aircraft carrier, Lexington class aircraft carrier, Wasp class aircraft carrier, Ranger class aircraft carrier, Akagi class aircraft carrier, Kagi class aircraft carrier, Hosho class aircraft carrier, Ryūjō-class light aircraft carrier and Hiyō-class light aircraft carriers

So in the 30s Osea doubled the size of the fleet to its peak now lets move to final era of propeller aviation as the main method of naval air power the 1940s so bear with me as this one is the longest

the fleet at the time was made Langely class aircraft carrier, Lexington class aircraft carrier, Wasp class aircraft carrier, Yorktown class aircraft carrier, Essex class aircraft carrier, Midway class aircraft carrier, Hosho class aircraft carrier, Akagi class aircraft carrier, Kaga class aircraft carrier, Soryu class aircraft carrier, Shokaku class aircraft carrier, Hiryū class aircraft carrier, Unryū-class aircraft carrier and Taihō-class aircraft carriers.

The Light Carrier fleet would’ve consisted of the Independence class, Saipan class, Hōshō-class, Ryūjō-class, Hiyō-class, Zuihō-class, Chitose-class and Ryūhō-class light aircraft carriers.

Osea would likely have also had these ship as part of its escort carrier fleet the Long Island class, Charger class, Bogue class aircraft carrier, Sangamon class, Casablanca class, Commencement Bay, Taiyo class, Kaiyo class, Shinyo class, Shimane Maru class and Yamashio Maru class escort aircraft carriers.

As you can see by the 40s the Osean Navy had the biggest aircraft carriers fleet but clearly must have taken severe losses during the conflict which is reflected by the fleet in the 1950s.

As technology advanced into the era of jet aviation the fleet started to shrink as the ships got bigger so let’s begin with the 1950s where the first nuclear powered aircraft carriers but let’s get to the fleet which back then consisted of surviving Essex class aircraft carrier, Enterprise class aircraft carrier, Midway class, Forrestal class and United States class aircraft carrierS.

As the times show Osea’s carrier force shrank but as the swinging 1960s rolled in but the fleet grew in the 60s with the fleet with the Essex class, Midway class, Forrestal class aircraft carrier, Enterprise class, United States class and the newer Kitty-Hawk class aircraft carriers.

In the 1970s the Osean fleet continued to shrink with almost all the Essex class and all the United States class aircraft carriers being removed from service by the end of the decade but unlike the IRL US Navy introduced the Nimitz class carriers but as we have no Strangereal evidence to say the Nimitz class entered in this time so the Osean Fleet would have been the Kitty-Hawk class, Enterprise class, Midway class, Forrestal class aircraft carrier and Essex class aircraft carriers.

When the 1980s came and the Strangereal Cold War began but the fleet was mostly the same but shrank once more with Kitty-Hawk class aircraft carrier, Enterprise class, Midway class aircraft carrier, Forrestal class and the last Essex class aircraft carriers.

Now we moved to the canon timeline starting with 1995 and Ace Combat 0’s the Belkan war where the fleet reduced again which is where the Nimitz class was introduced with a single Nimitz class aircraft carrier and the Kitty-Hawk class, Enterprise class although by this time all the Midway and almost all the Forrestal class aircraft carriers had been retired although could have been recommissioned but their retirement would leave a lone Forrestal class aircraft carrier in service.

We move to Ace combat 5’s 2010 Circum-Pacfic war where the Osean Navy reorganised as the Osean Maritime Defense Force had move to nuclear carriers made up of Nimitz class aircraft carrier and Enterprise class aircraft carriers although by the end of the war they had been reduced by 4 as four Nimitz class ships from the fleet had been sunk in battle.

Now we come to the most recent Ace Combat game and Recent conflict that Osea was involved Ace combat 7‘s 2019 Lighthouse war

Osea spent the 9 years building up its carrier force and their fleet at the time was the new Gerald-R-Ford class and the Nimitz class aircraft carriers with likely the smaller Izumo class light aircraft carriers bolstering the fleet although they lost 2 carriers.

the fleet in 2020 is made up of possibly a lone Gerald.R.Ford class and the remaining Nimitz class aircraft carriers and Izumo class light aircraft carriers.

As you can see from the numbers the Osean navy’s carrier force started small only to grow rapidly peaking in the 40s which would fit with a possible conflict in the 40s something hinted at from an Ace Combat 0 assault record of Fredi Starke

from Acepedia quote
‘He is the grandson of the top 1940’s Belkan ace Jonas Starke.’

after the jet age likely came in the 40s and 50s the carrier size fluctuated then began declining as the carriers grew in size until

so where do i think Osea will be in carrier strength in the years to come well AC7 has shown they are building the new Ford class and as the Nimitz class entered service in 1990s instead of the 1970s like in real life then they likely will still be in active use by the 2040s or 2050s so here’s my prediction for the carrier force size in the future

Gerald-R-Ford class and Nimitz class aircraft carriers and a fleet of Izumo class light aircraft carriers.

so the evolution of Osean Carriers over the last century is quite interesting so I’ll see you all next time

😉 🙂
